Privacy policy
Lumadia for Chrome. Effective 26 October 2026. Publisher: KN Soft LLC.
The short version
Lumadia collects nothing. It has no account, no server, no analytics and no advertising. Everything it stores stays in your browser on your device, and nothing it stores is sent to us or to anyone else.
What Lumadia stores, and where
Lumadia keeps these in your browser's extension storage, on your device only:
- Your viewing settings: the appearance you chose (light, dark or match; the dim; warmth; colour vision), and any default adjustments.
- Settings for individual documents you chose to save. A PDF's settings are stored under a fingerprint of the file (a SHA-256 hash of its size and its first and last 64 KB), not under its name or address. A web image's settings are stored under a SHA-256 hash of its address, never the address itself.
- Reading state for a PDF you have opened: rotation, page layout, scrolling and sidebar choice, under the same fingerprint.
- The sites where you turned image filtering on, as a list of those sites' origins (for example
https://example.com). You add and remove them yourself from the toolbar popup.
Removing the extension deletes all of it.
What Lumadia reads
- PDFs you open. Chrome hands Lumadia the PDF it has already downloaded, and Lumadia displays it. The file is not uploaded anywhere and is never changed.
- A settings file beside a local PDF. When you open a PDF from your own disk, and only if you have
allowed the extension access to file URLs, Lumadia reads a
<file>.lumadia.jsonfile next to it if one exists. It never writes one. - Images on pages, only on sites where you turned image filtering on, or on one image you chose with “View with Lumadia”. It applies a visual filter to them in the page. It does not read, copy or send page content.
What Lumadia sends
Nothing. Lumadia makes no network requests of its own, and it contains no remote code. When you choose Download in its image viewer, the image is fetched again from its own address so it can be saved.
Permissions
- storage, unlimitedStorage: to keep the settings above on your device, however many documents you adjust.
- activeTab, scripting: to filter images in the tab you are using when you ask it to.
- contextMenus: for the “View with Lumadia” item on images.
- Access to all sites (optional): asked for only when you first turn on image filtering, so that images can be filtered on the sites you switch on. You can withdraw it at any time in Chrome's extension settings.
Children
Lumadia is a general reading tool and collects no information from anyone, including children.
Changes
If this policy changes, the new version will be posted at this address with a new effective date. A change that let Lumadia send any data off your device would be stated here first, and would need your consent in the extension.
