Lumadia

Support

Lumadia for Chrome shows PDFs and images the way you want to read them, without changing the files. If something here does not answer your question, write to us through the contact form.

Requirements

Google Chrome 151 or later. Lumadia uses Chrome's PDF handler API, which arrived in Chrome 151; an older Chrome will not install it. Other Chromium browsers work once they include that API.

Getting started

PDFs

Once installed, every PDF you open in Chrome, from a link or from your disk, opens in Lumadia's viewer.

Images on web pages

Files on your disk

PDFs from your disk open in Lumadia without any extra step. To filter images in local files, or to let Lumadia read a .lumadia.json settings file beside a PDF, turn on Allow access to file URLs in Chrome's details page for Lumadia (chrome://extensions).

Questions

Where are my settings kept?

In this browser, on this device. Lumadia has no account and sends nothing anywhere; see the privacy policy. Keeping settings in step across your devices is planned for a later version.

What prints when I print?

The original file. Printing and downloading always use the unchanged document, so an inverted page never spends a page of toner.

A photograph inverts with the text. Can I stop that?

Yes. In the settings panel, set that page (or the whole document) never to invert. You can also switch Lumadia off for a moment with the Lumadia button.

How do I stop Lumadia opening PDFs?

Use Original viewer for one document. To stop it for good, turn Lumadia off or remove it on chrome://extensions; removing it deletes everything it stored.

Contact

Use the contact form. Please say which version of Chrome you use, and, for a PDF that misbehaves, where it came from if you can share it.
